Emma Ormsby is an emerging Māori artist studying at the UOA’s ELAM School of Fine Arts, undergoing a conjoint degree consisting of Māori Studies, Screen Production and Fine Arts.
She is also completing a diploma in Whakairo (Māori wood carving) at TWOA.
Her passion is within the world of Toi Māori (Māori arts) exploring a number of mediums, both tactile and digital.
Her art is heavily influenced by Te Ao Māori, with themes of identity and culture paramount to her work.
